The Gate -- what a flick! At no point do you get the idea that any traces of cheese aren't there just to heighten its charm. It was made for $500k Canadian, which is about $300k USD. This is a study in how great a horror movie can be if everyone working on it is stoked and the simple things that make horror good are highlighted.

Excellent 80's cult supernatural horror thriller from Canada that became a box-office hit in both the US and Canada in May of 1987. This movie marked the debut of Stephen Dorff long before he was in "Blade" who played a superb kid in this movie, the film incorporates a very interesting concept about a rock album used for satanic rituals.
